Roxian Live is the in-house production company that oversees booking and staffing for both the 1470 capacity Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks, and the 400 capacity Thunderbird Café & Music Hall in Lawrenceville. Events produced by Roxian Live are typically co-presented with Grey Area Productions.

The persistence and support of many local players and investors has made possible the dream of many, reviving this crucial piece of local history.

The celebration falls on the 90th anniversary of the historical vaudeville-era theater’s initial opening in 1929.

Historical importance aside, the opening of the Roxian Theatre will vastly enhance the live music culture of the region by providing a venue space in the 800-1,500 seat range. Touring acts that would otherwise pass through the area will now find a home in this McKees Rocks venue.

“The Roxian was designed for live entertainment,” Mr. Pergal said. “It has great sight lines, great acoustics and is a very warm room. With general admission for around 1,000 people on the ground level and 400 in the balcony and lounge, that’s going to allow us to do some really cool things.” – Pittsburgh Post Gazette, January 2018

The $9 million renovation project was initiated in 2017 when local entrepreneur, John Pergal and McKees Rocks partners formed Roxian Live, LLC and purchased the Roxian Theatre from McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation, which had been diligently seeking a developer for years. The venue is located at 425 Chartiers Ave, McKees Rocks, PA 15136.
